Admitted Student Events
Please join us on the beautiful campus of James Madison University for one of admitted student visit options. These events are designed for students who have already learned of their acceptance to JMU, and are trying to learn more about JMU before making their deposit. There are both in-person and virtual options available, spread throughout the Spring Semester, leading up to our deposit deadline day of May 1st, 2026.
Once on campus, you may stay for as long as you like on your visit day.
Office of Admissions Hours:
Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Closed Sundays and University Holidays

Come be a Duke for a Day!
Event Dates run from February 20th to April 24th on select days - see calendar
If you’re looking for a smaller, low-key visit to campus, Duke for a Day is for you! This on-campus experience is personalized just for admitted students. Bring your questions, navigate your next steps and get to know JMU!
Your student schedule will include the following:
- An information session about next steps for admitted students
- A guided activity around campus with a Student Ambassador
- A simulated classroom experience with a JMU faculty member, along with opportunity for Q&A with the faculty member
Students and family members will be separated for portions of the event, but will be reunited before the last event of the day.
Your day is not complete without a trip to the JMU Bookstore to stock up on all the purple and gold you can find!
You may also enjoy lunch or dinner on your own at one of our top-rated dining halls (registered students will receive one meal voucher)
JMU 101 Virtual Webinar Series
JMU 101 is an online webinar series that breaks down topics most important to admitted students. Sessions are conducted by various departments across campus and will include staff and current students who are excited to help you get to know more about JMU.
Each webinar will last one hour, which includes plenty of time for questions and answers.
