Come be a Duke for a Day!
Event Dates run from March 6th to April 28th on select days - see calendar
If you’re looking for a smaller, low-key visit to campus, Duke for a Day is for you! This on-campus experience is personalized just for admitted students. Bring your questions, navigate your next steps and get to know JMU!
Your student schedule will include the following:
- An info session about next steps for admitted students
- Q&A with current JMU students
- A guided activity around campus with a Student Ambassador
- Lunch at one of our top-rated dining halls (registered students will receive one meal voucher)
- A simulated classroom experience with a JMU faculty member, along with opportunity for Q&A with the faculty member
Students and family members will be separated for portions of the morning but will rejoin each other for lunch and afternoon activities. During this time, family members will take a traditional tour of campus.
Your day should end somewhere between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and should always include a trip to the JMU Bookstore to stock up on all the purple and gold you can find!
CHOICES Admitted Student Open House
Event Dates: March 1st, April 4th, April 11th

Meet faculty, current students, and your future classmates. Tour campus and eat lunch in a dining hall. Learn about JMU’s academic programs. Explore student services, check out the university recreation center, shop for JMU swag and more.
JMU 101 Virtual Webinar Series
JMU 101 is an online webinar series that breaks down topics most important to admitted students. Sessions are conducted by various departments across campus and will include staff and current students who are excited to help you get to know more about JMU.
Each webinar will last one hour, which includes plenty of time for questions and answers.
