Be a Duke for a Day!

Come join us on an adventure for our admitted transfer students and their families.  Activities will include an information session on next steps for admitted students, a chance to see campus as well as eat lunch in one of our award winning dining halls, a mock lecture from a JMU Faculty member and the ability to visit various student support offices to get any questions answered that you may have.  

Students and family members will be separated for portions of the morning, but will rejoin each other for lunch and later activities.  

Start your day with an information session presented by various JMU Faculty and Staff who work with Transfer Students.  After this, admitted students will be taken on an adventure throughout campus with a Student Ambassador tour guide while parents are given a more traditional campus tour.  Upon completing these activities, admitted students and their parents are encouraged to eat lunch in an on campus dining hall with an admissions staff member and a current student.  (Admitted students' lunch compliments of JMU, other guests pay a discounted rate at the door).  After lunch, you will have the opportunity to hear a lecture from a current JMU faculty member as if you were in one of their classes, and then various offices across campus will be open and available to answer any questions you may have about your students future as a JMU Duke!  Your day should end anywhere between 3pm and 4pm, and should always include a trip to the JMU Bookstore to stock up on all the purple and gold you can find!
