Be a Duke for a Day!

Come join us on an adventure for our admitted students and their families.  Activities will include an information session on next steps for admitted students, a chance to see campus, a mock lecture from a JMU faculty member and the ability to visit various student support offices to get any questions answered that you may have.  

Students and guests will be separated for portions of the event, but will rejoin each other for later activities.  

Start your afternoon with an information session presented by the Office of Admissions and JMU Next Transfer Advising office on the next steps for the admitted student.  After this, the admitted students will be taken on an adventure throughout campus with a Student Ambassador tour guide while guests are given a more traditional campus tour.  Then, you will meet back up and have the opportunity to hear a lecture from a current JMU faculty member as if you were in one of their classes.  After the classroom experience, various offices across campus will be open and available to answer any questions you may have about the admitted student's future as a JMU Duke!  Your programmed day will end at 4pm, and should always include a trip to the JMU Bookstore to stock up on all the purple and gold you can find!

We also encourage you to either come early for lunch on campus (available starting at 11 a.m.), or stay after the event for an early dinner (available starting at 4:30 p.m.) on campus.  The admitted students receive a meal voucher compliments of JMU, other guests will pay a discounted rate at the door.
